Welcome to My Language Learning Journey
Hi! Lovely to meet you! I am a brazilian college student and I’ve been amazed by languages for the longest time. I accidentally taught myself English to a B2 level (and sometimes I still struggle with the simplest things), and it was just in 2019, two months before turning 20 years old, that I’ve decided to actively pursue my passion and study Japanese and French.
Back then I already wanted to create a blog, but if I’m being quite honest, I am guilty of thinking that no one reads blogs anymore (although I do!), and that it would be better to create an Youtube channel (which seemed like the most obvious route to take because a lot of my biggest inspirations came from there). However, that’s not my thing at all. Not only I’m terrible at talking and putting myself out there, I also love to express myself through writing – I grew up being that kid who always carried a notebook around and wrote about ANYTHING. All the time.
I did not create a blog at first, but I do have a twitter account where I post daily updates on threads of my target languages (French here, Japanese here), and talk about language learning with amazing people that I’ve met (the language learning community is the greatest thing I’ve ever found!).
My desire to talk more in dept about my experiences persisted, so here I am.
I am not a professional by any means – I’m just a wannabe polyglot who’s doing her best. But I hope my experience and thoughts can help, or at least entertain you.
